A&H Steel’s safety programs have been structured to adhere to the most rigorous standards in western Canada – and applied to every single job.
A&H Steel is COR Certified meaning that our Health and Safety Management System has been evaluated by certified auditor and meets provincial standards established by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety.

Our unswerving attention to safety permeates all aspects of our operations: in our production facility, in the safe transport and delivery of our rebar products, and on the jobsite.

The Foundation of the A&H Steel Safety Program

COR (Certification of Recognition): A&H Steel has been COR Certified since 2002. This guides both our manufacturing and installation services, and gives our customers complete confidence that we are a trusted worksite partner.

Training to OSSA Standards: Our training is completed to Oil Sands Safety Association Standards – the most demanding and thorough standards in Alberta – if not the world. Training includes: CSTS, First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space, H2S Alive, Zoom Boom, overhead crane training, with additional training on specialized equipment where required.

Full-time HS&E Coordinator: A&H Steel has a full-time HS&E Coordinator on staff to ensure we are meeting the high standards that are in place and evolving to keep up with the latest industry requirements.

Safety Statistics: We keep detailed stats on our safety metrics. (Contact our HSE Coordinator for the most current numbers).

Leadership in Safety Excellence: Our focus on safety starts at the top: all A&H supervisors are required to hold their LSE. It defines their safety responsibilities as leaders and provides a framework for due diligence in all safety matters.

National Safety Code (NSC) Carrier Profile: Our drivers follow NSC guidelines and ensure our fleet passes all required CVSA vehicle inspections.
